First time I ever went deep sea fishing… first fish ever caught. I weigh 205lbs and was hurting for 2 days!!! This was in Okinawa, Japan and was actually a 12-15 minute battle. Makes me not want to ever go fresh water fishing again. lol weighed at least 50lbs!!! Yellow-Fin Tuna!

This season I decided to use light tackle on the surf for striped bass and after a lot of research I chose the Dobyns DX783 SF rod,,,,,I had “so much fun” using this rod on the surf and I also used this rod in the Delta and in the San Francisco Bay and will post more videos in the near future so “SUBSCRIBE NOW”…
All of my videos were shot with my GoPro HD Hero Helmet Camera…
On this video some of my friends and I catch a bunch of striped bass on the surf,,,I personally caught three striped bass on this day “but” ended up releasing one so that I could keep fishing and the two that I ended up keeping I ended up giving them away to my friends on the beach that did not end up catching one on that day!!!,,,All that I needed was the videos and some pictures!!!,,,,To be fare the two fish that I kept that day each went to a different friend,,,,This was an “AWESOME” day of fishing…

This was filmed on October 31, 2011 around 73 miles off the coast of Orange Beach, AL with a Droid X2.
Most of the fishing was Tuna and Amberjack which you will see caught in the last clip.
The initial oil rig is a Shell oil rig, the others I’m unsure of who owned them.
I’m not a video editor just a hobbyest. I’m not sure why there are some framerate issues that pop up but it was edited in iMovie. If you don’t enjoy the music, please press Mute.

A great full day of big game sportfishing in the deep sea off the east coast of Antigua for guests of ReefView Apartments, Antigua – aboard the 45ft Hatteras “Obsession” – run by Captain Derek Biel out of the Catamaran Marina, Falmouth Harbour.
Landing a mixed bag of fish including barracuda, blackfin and skipjack tuna, – we even raised and hooked a blue marlin well over 100lb, which unfortunately threw the hook on its first jump after a smoking initial run.
However it was the 3 wahoo between 25 and 35lbs which saved the day, (including a double header) – falling to the deeper trolled ballyhoo baits on the planer and wireline outfits.
Capt. Biel kindly cleaned a wahoo and tuna for the happy ReefView guests – as the school of resident tarpon delighted the audience putting on their regular feeding show back at the Cat Marina.

Out in the deep, hunting for monster yellowfin tuna – 20 miles off Antigua.
High speed jigging sorted us out with plenty of baby blackfin for livebait and skipjack tuna for cut bait.
The chunking rod delivered decent yellowfin and blackfin and a 80 pounder for Big John.
Then Eli rustled up another heavyweight yellowfin on his last drop with John’s Van Staal jigging outfit.
One heck of a tussle, 40 minutes ( – and some seriously strained buttocks later!!) – an 70 pounder hit the deck of Blue Rapid – and we decided to head for home.
Great sport, great company, great food for the table – the finest possible way to spend a Sunday…..
