Bob Bott catches and releases a pesky NJ fall run striped bass in the surf, using a 1/2 oz Hurley Jig Head and 7″ Got Stryper sand eel. Surf fishing for stripers has grown incredibly popular, and the 2011 fall run was one of the best ever. Sand eels were the primary bait, and lures that mimicked them were very productive. Bob fished with a 10′ CTS PJ model, rated 1-3oz rod (available from www.rhcustomrods.com).
