I own a Penn pursuit and a Penn senator but I am not so confident in their strenth. Will they hold up against big ocean fish while deep sea fishing.
The senator will be just fine, thats what its made for.. Not sure about the pursuit depends on what size pursuit you have.. Even so ive seen people pull up some massive grouper on small 1000 reels before so you should be fine.. Have strong test line 15-20# test and a good leader, For those fish id go with #50 floro.. They should hold up fine as long as your not trying to do too much with a smaller reel.. For example, don’t try to reel on it when they are running from you, just let them run.. with a smaller reel you have to get them good and tired before bringing them in, if you try to do too much you’ll probably lose the fish or wreck your reel..
So to answer the question i think they will hold up just fine as long as you have taken care of the reels..
