Bass From The Beach Vol II is a how-to but not a basic how-to. It’s the kind of book that every striped bass fishermen can learn something from and the type of manual that you refer back to as you gain more experience. Essentially, Tim teaches us his proven and effective method of fishing for stripers from the surf. Tim outlines fishing the seasons, using soft plastic and traditional lures, reading structure, formulating strategy – but Bass From The Beach is not the kind of book where the reader is expected to be an expert to put the techniques into action. Surfcasting veterans will gain valuable insight into an accomplished fisherman’s mind, while less experienced anglers will get a better understanding of the sport’s basic principles. Tim Coleman is one of the most respected names in surfcasting. He was the longtime editor of the The Fisherman Magazine New England edition and has written eight other books and hundreds of articles.
Reviews & Comments From Publications
Providence Journal: Tom Meade's Outdoor Collum 12/07/08
Tim Coleman, the Rhode Island expert surfcaster who was at the helm of The Fisherman magazine for several years, has a terrific new book available in time for Christmas.
Bass From The Beach, Volume II, is filled with practical information presented clearly and directly.
Coleman’s editor was Gene Bourque, another former magazine editor and a wonderful writer himself.
Coleman is a quiet guy, known for catching big fish. In Bass From The Beach, he reveals a fish-tote full of basic as well as advanced advice on bait and plug fishing that will help a lot of anglers catch more and bigger bass. His chapter on how to find new, private fishing spots is worth the price of the book. No one has ever written about access as Coleman does.
Bass From The Beach, Volume II, is available at Amazon.com, and should be in stock at tackle shops that carry books and Surfcasting Rhode Island
New Jersey Angler Magazine
Bass from the Beach, Volume II is one of the most interesting new fishing books we've seen. Written in Tim Coleman's unique and enjoyable colloquial style, this book contains all sorts of information that will help a newbie surfcaster get started on the right foot. Yet, experienced anglers will appreciate Coleman's perspective, gleaned from a lifetime spent on the water. This book is a must-add to your fishing library!
